About the Event

Why learn Dog Bite First Aid?

Because, over 100,000 people in Australia / 6,000 in Brisbane alone, per year are bitten by dogs. This could be your own beautiful pups, I am sorry to say; they may be unwell or injured, they may be anxious or feeling fearful; it could be a wandering dog in the community, where they may attack you as you defend your dog or child. The fact is, that children 10 years and younger are the major victims of dog bites and you as the parent, or infact pawrent, if the victim is your dog, have a responsibility to learn how to administer emergency first aid.

Why? because they may

1. bleed to death;

2. be exposed to life threatening bacterial infection

3. go into shock and experience multi organ failure

FURSAFE, Australia's No. 1 Health & Safety Specialist in the Pet Industry for emergency first aid, is committed to bridging the gap between the moment your dog experiences a life threatening injury and the time it takes to getting to the Vet! Where a dog bite is concerned, Fursafe is committed to supporting the community through the education of dog safety.

Aussie Pet Collective are hosting a 2 hour FURSAFE 'FurTalk' on Dog Bite First Aid at their premises in Slacks Creek for all Dog owners, dog professionals and people just passing through Brissy in their caravans.

After 2 hours of practical training and theory,  you will leave with invaluable knowledge and skills that could very well help you preserve the life of you, your child or pup whilst waiting for advanced medical or veterinary care!

Leave time either side of the 'Talk' to have a look at all the amazing pet businesses who retail their products at Aussie Pet Collective; you may find yourself a pawfect gift for your best pup!

You and all participants will receive a 'LeashTag' with instructions on how to administer Dog Bite First Aid; carry the tag on your key ring or attach to your leash. Over the coming months build your collection of 'LeashTag' for other first aid responses.
